Supra Peak Modem Interface

  • The Supra Peak Modem Interface is a user port device for computers like the Commodore 64 and 128. It is a small plastic assembly with a permanently cabled male DB-25 for connecting to an RS-232C device.

Internally, the Peak Modem Interface consists of only two chips — a 7414N and 75189A. They sit on a single-sided PCB with rather amateur construction, as you can see from the photo of the underside of the PCB.

This interface is compact and is hardly noticeable when plugged into the user port. Beyond this, I do not have much praise. Unlike my other user port interfaces, this one will not operate reliably at 2400 baud and even seems to have errors at 1200 baud.
